Editorial Reviews :
There's a certain sameness to the spiky, percussive bursts of punk-pop tabled by the Foo Fighters. Yet it's pretty hard to fault players as palpably enthusiastic as Dave Grohl and his gang. Every Foos record, up to and including their fourth studio disc, One by One, fluently merges rock menace with unabashedly cheery melody and thoughtful if cryptic lyrics. (And those videos!) So while insistent, guiterrorized tracks like 'All My Life' and 'Times Like These (One-Way Motorway)' don't expand the Foos' oeuvre, they're catchy as hell and well worth the price of admission. Those searching for veiled Nirvana/Courtney references will no doubt unearth them (or unearth what seem like veiled references), while longtime fans can relax in the knowledge that a seasoned pro like Grohl knows better than to muck with a winning formula.

Buyer Reviews :
After reading interviews with Dave, I was beyond excited for this album. I've been a fan of Foo Fighters since the beginning and after seeing them live several years ago I was more convinced than ever that they rocked, and rocked like only they could. There aren't too many mainstream bands around now that I can listen to and be blown away every time. The fact that this CD was released less than a month before the new Pearl Jam album and only a month after Beck's amazing 'Sea Change' has made this an autumn to remember.
The CD itself has some amazing songs, and while they are all great only a few stand out, with the overall winner being 'All My Life'. They knew what they were doing when they released that as the first single. That is one intense song. Not that it stops there. The entire CD is packed with powerful riffs, original progressions, and the dynamic qualities that we've all come to associate with Foo Fighters. Dave's voice is incredible as always, mellow and soothing at times before he breaks into his powerful screaming. There are some excellent harmonies here, and the musicianship is just great. Kudos to all the members of the band, this is just what I expected and just what I wanted. A solid rock album that doesn't hold back. I can't wait to catch them on tour; I need to see this live. They're such a fun-loving and energetic band, they write incredible songs, and they are amazing to see in concert...How could you not love them???
