All true, of course, and--on rock 'n' ragers like 'What Do You Do For Money Honey,' 'You Shook Me All Night Long,' and the title track--all great. As Scott's replacement Brian Johnson reminds us, loud and crunchy, no-holds-barred 'rock and roll ain't noise pollution...it makes good, good sense.' Never trust anyone who refuses to drink domestic beer, laugh at the Three Stooges, or crank Back in Black. --David Cantwell
Buyer Reviews : The death of a key band member (Bon Scott) usually means it's the death of the band as well, or at least the death of musical success enjoyed in the past. AC/DC defies death in this all-out, balls-against-the-wall, a**-kickin' ROCK album!
The band members may be mourning and adorned in black but they're certainly back in what is arguably AC/DC's best album. They set the mood immediately with the low and mournful tolling of a bell in HELLS BELLS. A lone guitar joins in, then another followed by drums as the song slowly builds and we are introduced to the vocal-chord shredding voice of new lead singer Brian Johnson. Man! What a great surprise! These guys sounded great together and they didn't let up for the rest of the album. My particular favorites beside the above are BACK IN BLACK, and YOU SHOOK ME ALL NIGHT LONG. The band and Johnson's vocals combined sound down right wicked!
This album is a must-have for anyone interested in crunching power chord, heavy back beat, screaming guitar solo, voice shredding no-holds-barred ROCK! Crank up the volume and enjoy!
