%) VISIT AMAZON.COM'S PAGE | Editorial Reviews : With Britney Spears exploring her burgeoning sexuality, at least on record and stage, Mandy Moore makes her most wholesome offering yet with A Walk to Remember. The soundtrack to this chaste love story offers several Moore tracks along with contributions by guitar-driven Christian-popsters Switchfoot. (She and Switchfoot singer Jonathan Foreman meet on a cover of New Radicals' 'Someday We'll Know.') Forgoing the dance-pop that first put her in the charts, Moore sticks mostly to safe ballads that make romance sound as exciting as cleaning one's room. Only the most straitlaced of parents will find anything to protest here.
Buyer Reviews : Once in a rare while can you find a soundtrack that everyone in your car can enjoy. 'A Walk To Remember' gives you hard rock, bubbly pop, and powerful ballads all in one. Anyone who saw the film knows how powerful the music is... Amazon has the wrong tracklisting.. here's what I think of each song:
Dare You To Move (Switchfoot) - my second favorite song on the soundtrack! The vocals are simply amazing.. you'll love this one!
Cry (Mandy) - Mandy's latest single, a classic 'pop' song with unique lyrics for the movie. A
Someday We'll Know (Mandy Moore & Jonathan Foreman) - a remake of the New Radicals' song - Jonathan's voice is perfectly paired with Mandy's in this rendition! B+
Dancing In The Moonlight (Toploader) - this song will be stuck in your head for days! It's light and sounds similar to a song from Toy Story.. B+
Learning To Breathe (Switchfoot) - sounds similar to Dare You to Move.. but is a little bit slower.. B
Only Hope(Mandy) - the song Mandy sang in the most pivotal part of the movie... her voice sounds beautfiul.. and the strings in the background just bring the whole song together... BEAUTIFUL! A+
It's Gonna Be Love (Mandy) - similar to other songs Mandy has put out, a slow pop song with candy lyrics. C
You - (Switchfoot) melodic rock.. B-
If You Believe (Rachel Lampa) an okay ballad.. C
No One (Cold) - a hard rock song with emotional lyrics... kinda sticks out on the sntrk.. but a great song nevertheless A-
So What Does It All Mean (Shane West) - Mandy's co-star gives the music thing a-go... maybe he should stick to acting. The lyrics are good, but his voice just isn't right for the song. C+
Mother, We Just Can't Get Enough (New Radicals) - awesome awesome awesome! That's all I can say! A catchy beat and the lead singers voice just grabs you! A
Only Hope (Switchfoot) - a different rendition of Mandy's song, it sounds totally different with a male vocal lead.. but it's still qutie powerful with the acoustic guitar instead of strings & piano!
