The South Jamaica, Queens 26 year old native, 50 cent, is grinding hard to be at the top in his field. His freestyles on mixtapes are more like songs because he adds a hook and an original beat to his music. This has separated him from the average rapper. 50 lays it down so well because he's not a newcomer. Instead he's an established artists that’s confident enough to spit flames and make hot music. 50 is so hot, that DJ’s have taken it upon themselves to release two Best of 50 Cent mix CD’s, before he had even signed to a major label. There is no such thing as not being on point for Curtis '50 Cent' Jackson. He's without a question, at the top of his game, being an artist of Multiple Talent.

50 hit the scene like an earthquake with 'How To Rob An Industry Nigga' and he’s been on a rampage ever since dealing with bootleggers, label backstabbing and other platinum selling artists trying to get at him physically. In 1999 his album Power of the Dollar, was heavily bootlegged and Trackmasters/Columbia never released it. Supposedly Trackmasters weren’t comfortable with him being caught up in the streets and getting shot three days before filming the video for 'Thug Love', with Destiny’s Child his first single. That of course led to the fall out with Columbia and negotiating his release from their grasps. He still showed love and rhymed over a Trackmasters produced remix of 'I’m Gonna Be Alright' on J-Lo’s latest album. The beat making squad also worked on 50’s new upcomming LP. 50 recently signed with hip-hop management juggernaut Violator, and has Teamworks Music producing with Sha Money XL holding him down. He’s currently in a bidding war with labels like J, Universal! and Jive to release his album Get Rich or Die Trying thru his own imprint, Rotten Apple. 50 has full access and advantage of the streets through mixtapes because that’s his forum because he controls it. He’s been stabbed and shot since being in the public’s eyes and has never snitched on anybody but instead remained in his gangsta state of mind. He has loosened up a bit on the violent mentality and has started coming out with concepts that can interest the world. To put it blunt, 50 Cent can’t be stopped!

50 Cent no longer has to rely on the mixtape circuit to get his stories of street entrenchment out to the public. He has a new recording home and two of music's biggest names backing him. Earlier this week, Eminem and Dr. Dre signed 50 Cent to a deal that will see the Queens rapper put out records through Shady/Aftermath Records. Both Eminem and Dre are in the studio producing tracks for the album, and their rep promised the LP will feature all new recordings. The MC's main producer, Sha Money XL (formerly known as Shy Self), has laid tracks for most of 50's mixtape offerings and has already produced five songs for the LP.

Money XL said that 50 still plans to title his album Get Rich or Die Trying (see 'On Verge Of Blowing Up, 50 Cent Finds Value In His Street Cred') and that the project should be ready to come out this fall. 'We're going to spread it out and bring more flavors,' Money XL said. 'Anyone who's been following 50 Cent knows how it's going to go down,' 50 said in a statement.

Banks grew up in the South Side of Jamaica, Queens. Banks started rapping at the age of 12. Banks was a product of his environment being shot twice, and kicked out of 3 High Schools in Queens. Banks never hustled but was raised by the streets. Violence and drugs were around him everywhere. Banks knew both 50 and YaYo from the streets but was considerably younger than them. 50 Cent has been hot in the underground for a good minute now. Just being signed to Shady Records in the summertime 50 Cent has created buzz for his NATIONWIDE debut. No doubt 50 has other albums already out, numerous freestyles, and these G-Unit projects already out.

50 first came on the scene with his highly controversial How To Rob ( An Industry N*gga ), and was hated on even though the song was tight. Many rappers including Ghostface Killah and Ja Rule had things to say. (Essentially where their beef started). Some believe these events led up to 50 getting blasted up but hey who knows I don't follow it that closely.

This underground tape has 50 and his G-Unit(Yayo and Lloyd Banks) reworking some hits that were already out as well as coming with original compositions. The hilarious Surrounded By Hoes takes it's que from Jonell's Round & Round RMX. U Should Be Here jacks the beat from Raphaell Saadiq's song of the same name. Got Me A Bottle is a humorous play on RL's Got Me A Model. Call Me borrows Tweet's beat. The album also features some exclusive freestyles where Lloyd Banks really shines.

This release is something refreshing from the underground scene. 50 Cent is The Future and if you don't already own it I suggest you try that out.
