I am forever indebted to my friend, Dave, who first introduced me to Brian Regan's comedy. I've seen him the last two times he has visited Denver, and will see him any chance I get. (In fact, last Friday, I met him backstage, and was too dumbfounded and starstruck to say anything--I'm a moron!) Brian is one of the rare breed of comedians who can reduce you to tears without ever going over the edge as far as inappropriate content is concerned. I would feel comfortable bringing my mother to the show, or teenage kids for that matter. By the time he left the stage on Friday night, I was exhausted from laughing--aching face, split side, etc. I couldn't believe this guy had the ability to make me laugh so hard, for such an extended period of time.
This album contains bits that are emblematic of Brian's unique skill, classics that he revisits in his live shows from time-to-time; it is extremely funny, but to get the whole picture, you have to see him live to witness his spasmodic gesticulations. I've never laughed so hard. I'm giving this CD to my friends who really need to laugh.
