Buyer Reviews : Hotel Paper may not change the way the world spins, but it is a damn good record that will surely get many spins in your CD player.
Michelle stepped up her lyrics, vocals, and guitar playing abilities on her second album (if you don't count he independently released 'Broken Bracelet') and the mix creates a 50 minute musical experience you don't wanna miss. The record is extremely personal, but at the same time, relateable for any young person in love or struggling with it.
Are You Happy Now- The first single. Good rock sound, catchy and fun. Not the lyrical strong point of the album, but great nonetheless.
Find Your Way Back- It's a cute song. Good lyrically. Not the best on the album, but I love it still.
Empty Handed- One of my favorites. Her vocals are great as are her words. The orchestra makes it even more beautiful.
Tuesday Morning- I really love the lyrics to this song. Good song.
One Of These Days- The piano in this song is so pretty! I love it! Again, great lyrics as well.
Love Me Like That- Not being a huge country fan, I was suprised to like this song so much as it has slight twang to it. Her and Crow sound awesome together and the chorus is one of the best on the CD.
Desperatley- Cute song. One of the poppier songs on the album. I like it, but it's not my favorite.
Breathe- Another pop-sounding song. It's so catchy and would make a great single (even though Michelle is against that). I really like the lyrics though, even though they are somewhat simple.
Where Are You Now- Catchy and pretty rocky. Cool song, not the greatest here.
Hotel Paper- Another one of my favorites. GREAT lyrics, her voice is probably strongest on this track, and it is super catchy. Love it. It feels so...warm.
'Til I Get Over You- My favorite. God, this song is just gorgeous. Lyrically (she incorporates French into the chorus) is is just astounding. It is such a beautiful piece.
It's You- Simple and elegant (just like my review of it).
Give the album a chance. You'll love it. She's so far ahead of most people her age musically it isn't even funny. Go support this great effort.
