Dangerously in Love’s best music is wildly up-to-date, craftily designed for both maximum street acceptance and positioning as some of the most cutting-edge stuff on current radio. The brash first single, 'Crazy in Love,' melds Jay-Z with an unstoppable Chi-Lites horn sample, shape-shifting into something brand new. Collaborations with Outkast’s Big Boi and Sean Paul also prick up the ears, while changes of pace like 'Be with You' and 'Speechless' achieve their aim with credibility. The disc becomes far too ballad heavy in its second half, but the key stuff is the noise she brings. --Rickey Wright
Buyer Reviews : 1. Crazy in Love-too much Radio Play, but on the whole a great song to start the cd off with, and a club hit, good to dance to.
2. Naughty Girl-one of my favorites!!! I love how she mixes old and new school for something original and sexy.
3. Baby Boy-probably my least favorite song, but it's not bad, just typical radio friendly song.
4. Hip Hop Star- OutKast always brings something fresh to a song, and it's a song like no one has ever heard before which is refreshing, very HOTTTTT
5.Be With You-it's ok, nothing too memorable for me but not a bad song
6.Me, Myself and I-you gotta listen to this one, and once you do, you can appreciate B as a real lyricist and great songwriter.
7.Yes-once again another example of good storytelling through songs, something that DC and now solo Beyonce will come to be known for
8.Signs-Missy mixes it with her newly signature 'rewind'-but it's a hot song anyway, missy and B make a good songwriting pair.
9.Speechless-my ABSOLUTE favorite song on this album...it leaves you speechless, Beyonce realizes less is more sometimes
10.That's how you like it-tribute to coupledom for B and Jay, cute.
11. Closer...-tribute to old school and bringin Luther!! Beyonce, I didn't know you had it like that!
12. Dangerously..-from the Survivor album but stands out on this one as well as the title track and onrunning theme throughout the cd.
13. Gift from Virgo-in case you didn't get it...she's in love!!!
14. Daddy-I cried, simple as that...
Overall a great album to chill to, not necessarily one to dance to but a fabulous cd none the less.
